What folds can you have when creating a leaflet?

leaflet-dl-6page-letter_thumbDo you know what fold you want or need when designing your leaflet?

We all receive leaflets through our doors every day.  They can convey many messages and are an essential part of marketing.  How they reveal their message and un-fold can make a world of difference, so if you are unsure of what you want or need, read on………

The simplest leaflet is just one sheet of paper, often printed on both sides.  This is called a Single Sheet or 2pp (printed pages)

The Single Fold is used if you want to create more pages, folding a sheet in half gives a 4pp leaflet

If four pages is not enough, you can 6pp in several ways –

a Concertina Fold, sometimes called a Z Fold, the sheets folds one way and then back on itself.

a Roll Fold, when all the folds are in the same direction

There are several Gate Folds, the first is made up when both sides of the paper are folded inwards at half the normal size, literally mimicking the actions of a gate.  A gate fold leaflet is very attractive, however it can be tricky to line up the images.

Closed Gate Fold, similar to the gate fold but with a fold in the middle, so creating 8pp
